The book of Habakkuk is a dialogue with God. As a background to looking at the detail there are lessons for us about prayer.

Christians have a saving faith in Jesus and a certain hope of a final deliverance. We are saved in hope, looking to receive redeemed bodies.

The unfathomable riches of God's love mercy and grace towards those who by adoption are his children. However, contrary to popular belief not every one is a child of God. It is only those who by faith have repented and believed in Christ. God tests your faith. The trials and suffering are for your sake. They are a refining process, and they show whether or not you really belong to Jesus. Many things can bring doubts to your mind. There is nothing like a trial to bring you that assurance, Jesus is with you in the fiery furnace. It all depends on how you respond.

Those who are in Christ Jesus, living branches in the true vine, have new life. No longer living in the flesh but walking after the Spirit, by God's grace seeking to do the will of God. If you are in Christ you are in the Spirit and Christ and the Spirit are in you.
